Challenge

The hotel’s ownership group had a complete energy audit performed on the Toll House hotel but after six months many of the measures still had not been implemented. The engineering team wanted a contractor to handle the lighting, heating, and window film measures but most lacked expertise in all three areas.

Upgrading the parking garage fixtures was an obvious priority since the current fixtures were not providing adequate light for guest safety.

Solution

Working closely with the hotel chief engineer and auditor we were able to select the measures that would provide the property with the highest value by increasing the comfort of the guest while also saving on energy and maintenance costs. We then carefully selected products that would meet the aesthetic and efficiency desires of the management team.

By reducing the number of fixtures in the parking garage and using high-efficiency models we were able to increase light levels while also reducing energy usage by 67%.
